Littlest Lamb's Statement on Terrorist Attack in Alexandria, Egypt
(Tuesday, February 15, 2011)

A few weeks ago, we wrote to you about five things we are most proud of as an organization. On that list was Commitment: our ongoing and unwavering commitment to the children who will one day call The Littlest Lamb Orphanage home. A major part of our commitment to the children is to teach them interfaith tolerance to break the cycle of hatred. Through recreational programs including sports and facilitated workshops, we aim to teach the children that they can live in peace with people from other religions and backgrounds, and even call them friends. In the wake of the violence that rocked Saints Church in Alexandria on New Years Day, leaving 21 dead and nearly 100 injured, our commitment is stronger than ever.
While most of us are thousands of miles away from the violence, we all feel the hurt and pain it has caused. We send our heartfelt condolences to one of our Board members who lost a nephew in this tragedy.
We hope you will join us in renewing and strengthening your commitment as you keep the victims of this senseless act of violence and their families in your heart and your prayers.
As we mourn the loss of our brothers and sisters in Egypt, we wish for peace for all the children of the world. Everyone deserves a place to pray in safety; to feel love instead of fear; acceptance instead of intolerance.
"The Lord will give strength unto his people; the Lord will bless his people with peace." Psalm 29:11

On November 21, 2009, around 200 Littlest Lamb supporters enjoyed a fabulous evening at the Battery Gardens in downtown Manhattan. We were graced with two live bands, 4 ambassadors, and New York Knicks legend Walt 'Clyde' Frazier - who surprised us all and auctioned off 2 tickets to the Knicks vs Lakers preceded by a private dinner with the Legend himself! All in all a very successful evening, raising $200,000 which will go DIRECTLY into the building of the orphanage in Egypt. On September 26, 2009, Nader completed his marathon run for the lambs in 4 hours and 5 minutes, just 5 minutes shy of his 4 hour goal. The run raised over $17,000 for the construction of the Littlest Lamb Orphanage!
Thanks to those that donated, to the faithful who trekked out to the Hamptons on a brisk fall morning, and to Nader for running his first marathon for the Lambs!
A Visit from the Sharm British School
(Thursday, July 23, 2009)

On June 19, 2009 three students, two parents, and a headmaster flew from Sharm el Sheikh to Cairo to visit the site of the Littlest Lamb Orphanage. There, the children planted a tree on the land and imprinted foundation stones with their handprints. The children and staff at Sharm British School have been fund raising for the Orphanage throughout the year, and were thrilled to make their first monetary and symbolic contribution. We at the Littlest Lamb are extremely grateful to the School, children, parents and staff for their involvement and support of our Orphanage, and we look forward to continuing our work together!

Two Recent Events -- Success and Success
(Thursday, June 18, 2009)

On May 9, 2009 Jacqueline Marie Kamel, Karim Riskallah and Mina Mekhail took to the stage and played a concert in Toronto, Canada to raise funds and awareness for the Littlest Lamb. This was the first Littlest Lamb event outside of the USA, and it was a huge success. Special thanks to Coffee Culture in Burlington, Ontario for hosting the event and for their generous contributions. We look forward to more events up north!

And further south, Casa la Femme in New York City played host to over 100 supporters on May 19, 2009 for an extremely enjoyable and successful fund raising event. Thanks to all those that came out and helping us raise around $15,000 for the building of the orphanage! Hope to see you at our next event.
